Lucy Gayle White makes her arrival.......

Greetings to all the family. I know that you're all aware of Lucy's arrival on the 7th, and we appreciate the phone calls, emails, and visits that you've given us.....we are truly blessed that Lucy arrived healthy, happy, and that she and Jen are both doing so well.

Some stats: Born at 6:15 pm on Monday January 7th.......Weight: 7lbs 60z........Length: 19.5 in......Stay in hosptial: 24 hrs......

Lucy was the star of the hospital nursery. It was rumored that when Lucy returned to the nursery so Jen could rest, that all the nurses were stoked because she was their favorite. She was quiet, calm, and very easy to take care of.

That "low maintenance" attitude of Lucy's lasted for about.....oh, 24 hrs. She and Jen arrived home Tuesday about 8:30, and we were expecting things to go about the same as they had the day before. Lucy, however had other ideas.......In an effort not to appear boring or predictable, she decided to cry just about all night long, stop eating regularly like she had since entering this dark and dreary world, and basically frustrated and worried mom and dad for about 15 hours. After that, about the time that mom started producing "the good stuff" for her to eat, she appeared to regain both her appetite and her laid back disposition, and it's been really wonderful with her ever since.....

She eats about every 3 hours, sleeps regularly (occasionally as much as 4 or 5 hours at night) and keeps her brother and sisters entertained with her dirty diapers, cute expressions, and her incomparable cuddliness.

When she first arrived, we thought she didn't really look alot like any of the other kids, and that she really was quite unique in her look. We got home, and got out Spencer's baby book, and noticed a striking resemblance between her and Spence at that same age....she has dark hair and blue eyes, not quite as round as the other girls', and the trademark "White" chin and lips. We're anxious to see what she'll grow to look like, since she's already changed a lot since coming home. She has her mom's beautiful face, her Dad's skinny legs, and the biggest feet and longest toes I've ever seen on a baby. We love her so much and are so stoked to finally have the newest member of our family here!

I've posted a couple of pics. You might have already gotten one or two in an email...

We hope you're all doing well. Just a note: Jen's sister Kim had a baby in Nov, sister-in-law Kris had a baby in Dec, Lucy came the 7th, Jen's sister Teresa had her baby the same week on Friday the 12th, and Jen's sister-in-law Bernice is having a baby in February. Every eligible mother on Jen's side will have had a baby within a 4 month period. Couple that with Analia's baby in Nov, and Brody arriving for Josh and Alison within a couple of weeks, and it's been an extremely "productive" period for both our families!

We love all of you and are so pleased to know that the Lord continues to bless your families and ours as we strive to honor our Lord by keeping his commandments and serving our fellow beings. God bless you all! Good luck to Alison and Josh....we're anxious for Brody to arrive!
